The Greenpeace freshwater submission party!

Join our submissions party and help tell the Government to protect New Zealand’s freshwater!

Everyone should be able to safely drink the water coming out of their kitchen tap, or go swimming in their local river without getting sick.

But here in Aotearoa, that’s sadly not the case for many communities.

New Zealand’s freshwater protections aren’t perfect, but they work. They follow a world-leading principle that puts the health of water and communities first, above all other uses of water.

Now is the time to do more, not less, but the Government plans to take away those world-leading water protections.

However, there’s still time for Christopher Luxon’s Government to change their minds.

Right now, there’s a bill open for submissions that will start the process of dismantling these world-leading freshwater protections. This submissions party will help anyone to share your story, your perspective, and your opinions with the politicians who are making these decisions.

In this submission party the Greenpeace crew will share a breakdown on the Bill.

Together we'll walk through how to make a submission, what the Government should do instead, and why its important. You'll also have the chance to talk with others who are equally passionate about protecting water quality.
