LNG Danger

By now, you might have heard about the government's plan to build an LNG import facility at Port Taranaki. The latest revelation on Radio NZ quoted the Infrastructure Commission's call to the government to slow down, and to develop the "right solution, not the most expedient one". For local residents, the threat of "low probability catastrophic events" remains unbearable.
Indeed, the LNG plan is dangerous, expensive and not needed.
To hear and understand the multiple arguments against the LNG plan, come to our public meeting, jointly organised by Taranaki Energy Watch, Climate Justice Taranaki, and Community Energy Taranaki.
These are some of the topics we will cover:
- The nature of LNG
- Risks to human safety
- The undemocratic process
- The financial cost burden
- Environmental effects
- NZ climate commitment
- Existing energy solutions
