HANDS OFF CONSERVATION LAND: MARCH FOR NATURE

Join tens of thousands of others who feel the same about defending conservation land.

At 1pm, Saturday 19 September 2026 we will March for Nature in a peaceful protest to show politicians that attacking nature is just not on.

Whether you're passionate about wildlife, conservation, climate, hunting, fishing, tramping or simply protecting the places that make Aotearoa special, this march is for you, your friends, whānau, tramping buddies and community.

WHY ARE WE MARCHING?

The Conservation Amendment Bill would make it easier to exploit and even sell off public conservation land. From forests and wetlands to rivers, coastlines and mountain ranges, the places that belong to Aotearoa are under threat.

We'll march against the exploitation of conservation land, against mining on conservation land, against new oil and gas exploration, seabed mining. 

We'll march for swimmable rivers, thriving wild places, so politicians from every political party know they need to prioritise nature this election.

We’ll march for good law making that protects the places we go camping, tramping, fishing and hunting. We’ll march for protection for future generations of the snow-covered mountains, ancient forests, wild rivers and native birdsong that make Aotearoa unlike anywhere else on Earth. We’ll march for the protection of conservation land where our endangered native species are fighting to survive.

We’ll march to show every politician that New Zealanders expect our environment to be protected, not destroyed.

This event is organised by Forest & Bird and Greenpeace Aotearoa, as part of a broad coalition of environmental and community groups.
