World Oceans Day webinar: Protecting the Tasman Sea

Ahead of this World Oceans Day (Sunday 8 June), join keen fisher, environmentalist and presenter Mandy Kupenga (Get Your Fish On) in conversation with Greenpeace campaigners Ellie Hooper and Juan Parada.
🐟 The rich waters of the Tasman Sea between Aotearoa and Australia are brimming with life, home to ancient deep sea corals, migrating whales, turtles, seabirds and rare sharks.
⛵️ From May to July, Greenpeace is at sea with the Rainbow Warrior to highlight the beauty of the Tasman Sea. We’re making the case for its protection and highlighting the destruction unfolding from industrial fishing on the high seas.
In this online event, Mandy, Ellie and Juan will be diving into:
- Latest news from the Rainbow Warrior in the Tasman sea
- Our experience on the Greenpeace Seamounts Expedition in March
- Why the Tasman Sea has been chosen for a marine sanctuary
We’ll also share ways you can get involved with our oceans work in the coming weeks! Bring your questions and passion for the ocean!
